El CH-53K es un helic贸ptero de carga pesada, creado en el 2014, que puede transportar hasta 27.000 libras (122 toneladas) a una distancia de 110 millas n谩uticas, en comparaci贸n con las 19.000 libras que pod铆a transportar el modelo anterior. Adem谩s, el CH-53K cuenta con un fuselaje m谩s ancho que le permite transportar hasta el triple de carga internamente.
El CH-53A Sea Stallion, el predecesor del CH-53K, comenz贸 a entregarse en 1966 y estaba equipado con dos motores turboeje T64-GE-6. Las variantes del CH-53A se utilizaron para el barrido de minas y el transporte de cargas a trav茅s de dep贸sitos de combustible externos. The CH-53K is a heavy-lift helicopter, created in 2014, that can transport up to 27,000 pounds (122 tons) over a distance of 110 nautical miles, compared to the 19,000 pounds that the previous model could carry. In addition, the CH-53K has a wider fuselage that allows it to carry up to three times as much cargo internally.
