Among the harmful groups, there are cases such as Heaven's Gate, known for the massive suicide of its members, this type of sects blindly follow a leader and live isolated, his death was because it was assumed that when they passed a comet, they should leave their physical body so that their souls were taken to an extraterrestrial spacecraft and to a higher plane of existence. Another sect, which still exists, is that of Scientology (ACI Prensa, sf), created by L. Ron Hubbard and whose origin is supposedly that people are basically good (Fuentes, 2018), but a galactic sovereign called Xenu confined to the earth spirits that cause ills to humans and that can only be cured with a lot of money, since a device called an audimeter that costs about USD $ 5000 is needed.
