- Many books throughout history have been considered cursed by the effects they produce on those who dare to read them
Damned books (History, n.d.), they are so called because of their supposed effects on the people who read them, some of the most common consequences are madness, product when accessing this secret knowledge written, for example, by gods or by people on the verge of death . Another effect that these writings have is the death in strange circumstances of the people who dare to read them (Las Lecturas de Morita, 2018; Cleopatra VII, 2014).
2) Malleus Maleficarum - The Hammer of the Witches, written at the time of the Inquisition and consists of three chapters, the 1st tries to prove that the magic is real, the 2nd talks about the forms of witchcraft and the 3rd on how to detect witches. This book was responsible for the witch hunt in the middle ages.
3) Excalibur, written by L. Ron. Hubbard after an accident and an experience close to death, is a document that has the power to drive those who read it crazy.
4) The Voynich manuscript, an indecipherable book to date, is known for its images that contain things about botany, history, engineering and astronomy. By ignoring its content some people attribute the legend that who can decipher it goes to the wrong terminal.
5) Necronomicon, written by H.P. Lovecraft, in the first instance, is a fiction book, whose original title was 'Al Azif' and that was supposedly written in 730 A.D. That tells the story of Abdul Alhazred, a writer who was devoured in broad daylight to tell a set, although according to some people, the set is real and was a compilation made by Lovecraft.
