These insects (Parra, 2010; Pino, 2014) have recorded sounds above 120 dB, this is about 10 dB on the noise generated by a commercial aircraft and the frequency of vibration they emit can reach 86 Hz. Cicadas can live in both temperate and tropical climates. They have a complete life development that lasts from 2 to 17 years depending on the species.
