Tinnitus are noises that appear in the ear, caused by exposure to noise or stress, among other things, these can feel like a buzzing or hissing sound. The MicroTransponder¹ company has created an implant that stimulates the vagus nerve at the neck level, this has a software called Serenity System (Lostaunau, 2014; MicroTranspoder, 2014)¹ that manages to reduce tinnitus, since its developers came to the conclusion that tinnitus does not originate in the ear, but rather in the brain. This tries to compensate for the lack of hearing through the auditory region and this would be the cause of the buzzing that people with this condition hear, the program works using tones that are low and above the tinnitus to compensate it.
